Realism
A style based on a wide range of colors, no black or thick line work, and made to look and feel like a reference. Can be done in B&G but color is preferred.
Neo-Traditional
A style that includes a mix of thick and thin line work to create a dynamic image. Full of color and slightly more detailed than average Traditional tattoos.
Art Nouveau (Neo Nouveau)
A style that consists of mostly women’s faces and/or bodies that read like 17th century and beyond paintings. Usually full/muted colors and highly detailed. They can also include a wide range of background elements.
Soft Black and Grey (Soft B&G)
A style and technique that includes no color, only shades of blacks and greys. The “soft” is coined from the smoothness that is achieved in this style. This technique can have defined black outlines or no outline!
American/Japanese Traditional
Two historical styles in tattooing that consist of simple imagery, thick solid outlines, and fully packed color/black. These styles of tattoos stand the test of time and have been around for many, many generations.
Watercolor
A more modern style that imitates a watercolor painting/drawing. Full of color and vibrancy. These can create an image or be adornments to an image!
